Water

In this vast barren land, surrounded by sand, drinkable water is a luxury to have. This makes my job as a water transporter in this desert all the more life threatening. What is a water transporter? Easy, I transport water across the desert to customers.
Out of all the dangerous encounters in the desert, this one is the most memorable of all. One day I received a special order from a peculiar customer. The person was a hooded man and he spoke in a quiet but serious manner. He told me the water I am transporting today is actually from the fountain of life! The destination is the royal palace at the desert city. The hooded man warned me to be wary of bandits for the water of life is a precious item.
I thought that such a grand task would have an equally grand reward, so I made the decision to accept the hooded man. Just life that, without a rhyme or a reason I quickly jumped into my caravan and took off with the barrels containing the water of life.
When I reached the city, I received menacing glares from brute looking townspeople there. The townspeople stopped me from proceeding. They told me to handover the water of life the king of the palace had stolen. Being the responsible business man I am, I only wanted to deliver the water to its destination and receive my reward. I ignored the townspeople and continued on my way.
As I reached the palace gates, I was stopped again but this time by guards. I stated my business, the guards immediately started unloading the barrels of water. Out of nowhere, a gang of bandits appeared and started fighting the guards over for the water of life. I vaguely caught a glimpse of their faces, they were the townspeople that stopped me just now!
Both parties wanted the water of life badly, I hastily ran away from the premise and found a place to safely hide and observe. There was utter chaos and the barrels started to get damaged. The water of life starts leaking out from the barrels.
During the midst of the fight, the hooded man appeared and stopped everybody. When everyone was confused as to the identity of the hooded man, he pushed over all the barrels thus breaking them and letting the water of life spill on the floor. The ground was wet with the water of life and everyone had their eyes and mouths wide open. It was then, the hooded man revealed himself. He was the king of the palace! I was baffled, why would the king waste the water of life?
The king explained briefly, he noticed an increase in crime rate in his city. To rat out the bandits, the king sent a spy to misinform the townspeople about him being delivered the water from the fountain of life, it was actually just plain water. The greedy bandits after hearing this and immediately fell for the trap the king had set up. They were caught red handed trying to steal the supposed water of life.
In the end, the bandits were apprehended. The king commended me for my cooperation and offered me a job at his palace. Now, I deliver drinkable water to the people of the city, under supervision of the king of course.
